Building Skills: Woodworking Foundations

$950 (total cost including instruction and materials)

Description:

This is a great place to begin.  This class is designed for students looking for hand tool and benchwork skills.  We’ll start with the basics – how wood moves and how to work it, how to sharpen and care for hand tools, and the basic joinery of woodworking.

Over these six days we’ll cover: sharpening, tool selection and usage, wood movement and joinery, and we’ll finish the week by working on a dovetailed bench-top tool tote.  Joinery covered: mortise and tenon, dovetail and bridle joint.

The goal here is for a beginning woodworker to gain confidence and skills to tackle new projects upon the completion of the course.

A fully catered lunch is included and served every day and drinks and snacks are provided all day. Please let us know in advance of any special dietary needs. It is a good idea to make your lodging reservations well in advance.
