Dyeing To Quilt

Class Description:

Practice the foundational elements of what makes a successful quilt with the exciting added interest of hand dyed fabric! Many quilters rely on prints purchased from our local fabric shops, but in this class, we will use a low water technique to dye our own unique fabrics.

The first weekend we will focus on choosing colors, mixing dyes, dyeing, rinsing, washing, and pressing our fabrics. The second weekend we will cover the foundational elements of quilt making through planning, cutting, sewing, and finishing a small 4 block wall hanging from start to finish.

This class is designed to accommodate both beginners and those who are more comfortable with sewing and dyeing fabrics who want to hone their skill. Participants will learn best practice throughout the process and leave with the competency to keep quilting and dyeing confidently at home.

All material costs and daily lunches are included in the course fee at Pine Croft.
